I am really overwhelmed by all these photo's. You captured it all so very well !
Being hospitalized myself a couple of years ago in Amsterdam, I see now how lucky I was that the institution I was in, was very modern. Do you allow me to use some of these photo's as illustration for my personal diary in which I still have to write to keep my head clear & empty?

Mio padre ha lavorato come psicologo in un grande istituto nel sud-ovest dell'Inghilterra. Qualche volta sono andato a lavorare con lui nei fine settimana quando ha avuto lavoro extra da fare. Ricordo le camminate attraverso gli spazi che hai documentato qui. Mi terrorizza con il concetto stesso della pazzia. Anche se era screditato e sottosupportato, mio padre fece parte di un eccellente e dedicato team che veramente aiuto' la gente. L'istituzione in questione, insieme ad altre simili, fu chiusa alla fine degli anni ottanta e molti pazienti finirono per girovagare nella comunita' con piccolissimi aiuti. My father used to work as a psychologistat a large institution in the south west of England. I sometimes used to go into work with him at the weekend when he had extra paperwork to do and remember walking through spaces that you have documented here. It terrified me along with the whole concept of madness. Although run down and under resourced/supported, he worked as part of an excellent and dedicated team that really helped people. The institution in question along with many like it was closed in the late eighties and many patients ended up wandering around in the community with very little support. A very thought provoking gallery. v

Sfortunatamente questo e' un orrore che molti pazienti vivono giorno e notte... e pensare che i medici danno assistenza in modo da non far avere incubi ai pazienti mentre in realta' vivono in uno costantemente... lavoro eccellente... votato

Wow. Hai raccontato la storia di questo ospedale stupendamente. Posso sentire la atmosfera di solitudine delle corsie e delle stanze abbandonate. Ho avuto l'esperienza di essere paziente in un paio di questi posti, e ti posso dire che non sono molto diversi da questo anche quando sono attivi e in funzione! In verita', hai catturato la disperazione chiusa in quest'edificio, e quasi certamente lo stato d'animo dei pazienti, meravigliosamente.
Wow. You told the story of this hospital amazingly. I can almost feel the haunting and lonely atmosphere of the wards and abandonned rooms. I've had the sobering experience of being a patient in a couple of these places, and I can tell you they don't look much different from this when they're up and running! In truth, you captured the desperation locked in this building, and almost certainly the patients' minds, beautifully.
